About us

Vesturkantur was founded in 2008 and started in the tourism industry in 2014 under the name Hrimland. First by renting 3 cottages in Hálönd in Hlíðarfjall mountain about 2 km from the ski resort but still only about 5 km away from Akureyri city center.

We have come quite a long way in 8 years from being able to welcome 24 guests in 2014 to 178 guests in 2022.
